Accountant – Cryptocurrency & Digital Assets

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant – Cryptocurrency & Digital Assets to manage both traditional accounting functions and cryptocurrency-related financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, blockchain transactions, and digital asset accounting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Finance Maintain full sets of accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Record journal entries and perform account reconciliations. Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate financial records. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Prepare VAT returns and support tax compliance requirements. Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits. Cryptocurrency & Digital Assets Record and reconcile cryptocurrency transactions, including purchases, sales, transfers, staking, mining, and token movements. Monitor wallet balances and reconcile blockchain transactions with accounting records. Maintain accurate records of digital asset holdings and valuations. Reconcile transactions from cryptocurrency exchanges and custodial platforms. Track transaction fees, gas fees, and foreign exchange differences. Ensure proper accounting treatment for digital assets in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Assist in preparing financial reports related to cryptocurrency activities. Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and applicable accounting standards. Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all financial and blockchain transactions. Identify discrepancies and recommend process improvements. Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting controls for digital assets. ERP & Systems Process accounting transactions using Odoo ERP. Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation within the ERP system. Collaborate with internal departments to improve financial reporting processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience. At least 1–2 years of experience in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital asset accounting is preferred. Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS or GAAP). Experience using Odoo ERP is highly preferred. Familiarity with cryptocurrency exchanges, blockchain explorers, and digital wallets. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is an advantage. Experience with crypto accounting software (e.g., CoinTracking, Koinly, Cryptio, Bitwave, or similar). Understanding of blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi).
