Job Description Position Title : Advising Center Manager Position Summary: AUIB is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of First-Year UG Advising to lead, coordinate, and oversee the University’s ASP 4–6 levels and First-Year UG Advising Program. In this pivotal role, the Manager will develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive advising model that supports first-year student transition, persistence, and academic achievement — serving as AUIB’s primary leader for first-year advising and student success initiatives, grounded in developmental and proactive advising rather than registration processing alone. Collaborating with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, the English Language Academy (ELA), the Registrar, and academic colleges, the Manager establishes advising policies, supervises operations, coordinates advisor training, monitors success indicators, and leads intervention efforts to improve student retention and progression. Key Responsibilities: Program Leadership and Administration: Develop, implement, and continuously improve the First-Year UG Advising Program — establishing advising policies, procedures, and assessment practices, and overseeing daily operations of the First-Year Advising Center. Advisor Supervision and Development: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate First-Year Advisors; coordinate caseload assignments and deliver ongoing training to ensure consistent advising practices across the institution. Student Success and Retention: Lead institutional efforts to improve first-year retention and persistence by monitoring success indicators, developing intervention strategies for at-risk students, and coordinating referrals to campus support services. Early Alert and Student Intervention: Develop and manage an institutional early-alert process, coordinating faculty and staff referrals and partnering with Information Technology and the Registrar on systems to identify and support at-risk students. Collaboration and Outreach: Partner closely with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, the ELA, the Registrar, and academic colleges on orientation programs, first-year transition initiatives, and university committees related to student success. Assessment and Continuous Improvement: Establish key performance indicators for advising effectiveness, analyze retention and progression data, and recommend improvements to advising practices, staffing, and technology.
