Asst.Material Engineer

**Job Overview:** We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Material Engineer to join our expanding aluminum and glazing division. You will support the engineering team in sourcing, testing, and verifying the quality of materials used for high-end curtain walls, cladding, and architectural facades. You will act as the critical link between the procurement, factory, and on-site construction teams to ensure maximum material efficiency and compliance with international standards. **Key Duties and Responsibilities:** * **Material Sourcing & Procurement Support:** Assist in estimating material quantities and preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for aluminum profiles, glass types, and hardware. * **Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC):** Conduct routine inspections on incoming raw materials and fabricated facade components to ensure they meet project specifications and ISO quality standards. * **Testing & Evaluation:** Assist in performing and documenting structural, weather, and thermal tests on aluminum panels, glazing, and silicone sealants. * **Supplier Coordination:** Liaise with suppliers and vendors to request samples, track material deliveries, and resolve technical discrepancies in profile shapes or surface finishes. * **Factory & Site Liaison:** Coordinate with the fabrication workshop and site installation teams to ensure materials are handled, packed, and installed without damage. * **Waste & Cost Optimization:** Monitor material consumption, track scrap rates, and identify value engineering opportunities to minimize wastage and reduce costs. * **Documentation & Reporting:** Maintain detailed logs of material approvals, testing results, and non-conformities; prepare technical reports for the Senior Materials Engineer or Project Manager. **Qualifications and Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering. * Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in the construction or aluminum facade industry. * Familiarity with architectural facade systems (e.g., curtain walls, structural glazing, ACP cladding). * Strong understanding of material properties, surface treatments (powder coating, anodizing), and metal alloys. * Proficiency in using MS Office and engineering/modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD). * Excellent analytical and communication skills.
