About the role
INTECH Process Automation is seeking a skilled
Instrument Air Compressor Technician
to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, responsible for hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, cleaning, troubleshooting and functional testing of process analyzers, CEMS and associated sample-conditioning systems. The role ensures reliable analyzer operation, accurate measurement and timely reporting of compliance-related failures.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine PM/CM, inspection and servicing of instrument air compressors, dryers, receivers and associated equipment.
Check and maintain filters, drains, regulators, valves, tubing and air-distribution components.
Monitor and record air pressure, dew point, moisture, temperature and other operating parameters.
Identify and repair air leaks, pressure losses and air-quality issues within the assigned scope.
Perform functional checks of compressor/dryer controls, alarms, switches, transmitters and protective devices.
Support troubleshooting of instrumentation, pneumatic and control-system faults.
Perform approved filter replacement, drain maintenance and consumable replacement.
Support safe isolation, depressurization, maintenance and return to service of instrument-air equipment.
Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Operations teams for equipment defects and repairs.
Record operating readings, maintenance activities, test results and defects in CMMS and maintenance records.
Report mechanical, electrical, control and recurring air-quality defects to the responsible engineer.
Support emergency troubleshooting and restoration of instrument-air supply.
Maintain tools, test equipment, spare parts and consumables required for maintenance.
Comply with PTW, LOTO, HSE, pressure-system safety and instrument-air maintenance procedures.
Requirements:
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
Technical Diploma/ITI in Instrumentation, Electronics, Automation, Electrical, IT or relevant discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or comparable industrial facilities, including at least 3 years as an Instrument Air/Compressor Technician.
Hands-on experience with instrument air compressors, dryers, receivers, filters and regulators.
Experience performing pressure, dew-point, moisture and air-quality checks.
Knowledge of air leaks, drains, filters, pneumatic tubing and instrument-air distribution systems.
Basic understanding of compressor/dryer controls, alarms, switches and instrumentation.
Ability to perform safe isolation, depressurization, maintenance and return-to-service activities.
Experience with CMMS, maintenance records and operating parameter logs.
Good understanding of PTW, LOTO, HSE and pressure-system safety requirements.
Compressor/dryer OEM or instrument-air training is highly desirable.
