About the role
INTECH Process Automation is seeking a seasoned
Instrument Air Compressor Engineer
to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability and performance of
instrument air compressor packages and associated air-treatment systems
. The role ensures a reliable, clean and dry instrument air supply to control, shutdown and pneumatic equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead maintenance and troubleshooting of instrument air compressor packages, dryers, receivers and associated systems.
Monitor and maintain instrument air quality, pressure, flow, dew point and moisture levels.
Diagnose compressor, dryer, control, instrumentation and air-distribution system faults.
Maintain and verify pressure switches, transmitters, gauges, valves, regulators, drains and control devices.
Support preventive/corrective maintenance, inspection, calibration and functional testing of instrumentation associated with air systems.
Troubleshoot air leaks, pressure losses, moisture ingress, contamination and poor air quality.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, MCC and utility interfaces for compressor and dryer maintenance.
Monitor system performance, alarms, trends and operating parameters and recommend reliability improvements.
Investigate common-cause instrument-air failures affecting control valves, actuators, solenoids and other pneumatic equipment.
Support commissioning, startup, shutdown, testing and controlled return to service of compressor and instrument-air systems.
Review and maintain instrument air P&IDs, datasheets, maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
Conduct RCA and reliability analysis for recurring compressor, dryer and air-quality failures.
Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, HSE and OEM/vendor teams.
Maintain maintenance records, test results, failure reports and CMMS work-order close-out.
Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, HSE, process safety and instrument-air system procedures.
Requirements:
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial facilities, including at least 3 years in instrument air/compressor systems.
Strong knowledge of instrument air compressors, dryers, receivers, filters and air-distribution systems.
Experience with dew-point, air-quality, pressure and moisture monitoring.
Knowledge of compressor controls, instrumentation, alarms, trips and protection systems.
Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical, MCC and utility interfaces.
Strong troubleshooting, RCA and reliability improvement capabilities.
Experience with pneumatic systems supporting control valves, actuators and solenoids.
Knowledge of commissioning, testing, maintenance and controlled return to service.
Strong CMMS, documentation and technical reporting skills.
