Mechanical QA/QC Engineer

Job Title: QA/QC Engineer (Oil & Gas)Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and experienced **QA/QC Engineer** to join our project team. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in **oil & gas construction**, including **storage tanks, piping, structural steel, welding, NDT, and quality management systems**. The candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that all fabrication, erection, welding, inspection, and testing activities comply with project specifications, international codes, client requirements, and applicable standards. Key Responsibilities * Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS). * Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, ITPs, method statements, and client requirements. * Monitor and inspect fabrication, erection, welding, piping, and structural activities. * Coordinate all quality inspections with clients, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies. * Review and prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Quality Procedures, and Quality Records. * Verify material traceability, Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and inspection records. * Supervise and coordinate **Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), and Visual Inspection (VT)** activities. * Ensure all welding activities comply with approved **WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification Records (WQT/WPQ)**. * Monitor welding parameters and verify compliance with applicable welding procedures. * Review NDT reports and ensure timely closure of NCRs and punch points. * Conduct internal quality audits and participate in client quality audits. * Prepare quality dossiers, manufacturing record books (MRB), and final handover documentation. * Coordinate hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, leak testing, and pre-commissioning quality activities. * Raise and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs), and Corrective Action Reports (CARs). * Ensure compliance with applicable international standards and project specifications. * Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and Construction Teams to maintain project quality objectives. * Maintain daily quality reports and inspection records. Qualifications & Experience * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. * Minimum **5–8 years of UAE/GCC experience** as a QA/QC Engineer in Oil & Gas projects. * Experience in **storage tank construction, piping, structural steel fabrication, and industrial projects**. * Strong experience with welding inspection and NDT coordination. * Certification in **CSWIP 3.1 / CSWIP 3.2** or **AWS-CWI** is highly preferred. * ASNT Level II certification (RT/UT/MT/PT) is an added advantage. * ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification is preferred. * Valid UAE driving license is an advantage. Codes & Standards Knowledge The candidate should have sound knowledge of: * ASME Section V – Non-Destructive Examination * ASME Section VIII – Pressure Vessels * ASME Section IX – Welding Qualifications * ASME B31.3 – Process Piping * API 650 – Welded Steel Storage Tanks * API 620 – Low Pressure Storage Tanks * API 653 – Tank Inspection, Repair & Alteration * AWS D1.1 – Structural Welding Code * ASTM Standards * ISO 9001 Quality Management System * Client Specifications and International Quality Standards **Key Skills** * Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems in Oil & Gas construction. * Excellent understanding of RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, PMI, and other NDT methods. * Expertise in welding inspection and quality control. * Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and fabrication drawings. * Experience in reviewing WPS, PQR, WPQ, MTCs, ITPs, and quality dossiers. * Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills. * Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation software. * Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and project teams. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to ensure compliance with international quality standards.
