Quantity Surveyor – IPA & Claims

We are looking for a proactive **Post Contract Quantity Surveyor** to oversee commercial activities throughout the project execution stage. The primary responsibility of this role is the accurate preparation and submission of **Interim Payment Applications (IPA)** while ensuring timely certification and payment collection. The successful candidate will also manage variations, contractual claims, cost monitoring, and commercial negotiations with main contractors to safeguard the company's financial interests. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare, compile, and submit **Interim Payment Applications (IPA)** in accordance with contract requirements and project progress. * Liaise directly with **Main Contractor Quantity Surveyors** to review submitted applications, resolve commercial queries, and negotiate payment certifications. * Evaluate project scope changes and prepare detailed **variation quotations**, supporting documentation, and cost justifications. * Identify contractual entitlements and prepare **Extension of Time (EOT), delay, disruption, and commercial claims** where applicable. * Monitor certified, pending, and outstanding payments while following up on approvals and payment status. * Review contracts, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and commercial correspondence to ensure contractual compliance. * Measure completed work, verify executed quantities, and prepare supporting records for payment submissions. * Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and site teams to collect commercial information required for valuations and claims. * Maintain records of variations, payment applications, contractual notices, and project commercial documentation. * Support commercial negotiations, resolve valuation differences, and protect the company's contractual position throughout the project lifecycle. * Prepare cost reports, cash flow updates, and commercial summaries for management review. * Ensure all post-contract commercial activities are completed accurately and within contractual deadlines. **Requirements** * Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. * **Minimum 3 years of post-contract Quantity Surveying experience within the UAE.** * Demonstrated experience in **preparing and managing Interim Payment Applications (IPA)** is essential. * Strong understanding of **post-contract administration, payment certification, commercial correspondence, and contract documentation.** * Proven ability to negotiate valuations, payment certifications, and commercial matters with **Main Contractor Quantity Surveyors.** * Practical experience in preparing and managing **variations, contractual claims, and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.** * Sound knowledge of quantity measurement, BOQs, rate analysis, and project cost control. * Ability to interpret engineering drawings and perform **basic quantity calculations for structural steel works**. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial problem-solving skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard quantity surveying software. **Preferred Experience** * Previous experience in **structural steel, steel fabrication, steel erection, metal works, PEB, aluminium, or industrial construction** will be highly advantageous. * Candidates from other construction sectors with strong post-contract commercial experience are **also encouraged to apply.** Work Location: In person
