As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced **Design Team Lead – Aluminum & Façade** to lead our Engineering & Design Department at our **Al Quoz, Dubai** office. This leadership role is ideal for a technically strong professional with extensive façade design experience and a passion for mentoring teams while delivering world-class engineering solutions. **Position Overview** The **Design Team Lead – Aluminum & Façade** will be responsible for leading the façade design team, overseeing the preparation of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, technical submittals, and engineering documentation for aluminum and façade projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Project Management, Estimation, Production, Procurement, QA/QC, and Site teams to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. **Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Leadership** * Lead, mentor, and manage the Design Engineering team to deliver high-quality engineering and drafting outputs. * Allocate design resources and monitor workloads to achieve project milestones and deadlines. * Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and technical submissions before client issuance. * Establish and maintain engineering standards, design procedures, and best practices. * Drive innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within the design department. **Engineering & Technical Design** * Develop, review, and approve detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for curtain walls, unitized systems, stick systems, structural glazing, windows, doors, skylights, louvers, and architectural metal works. * Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, consultant requirements, local authority regulations, and international standards. * Perform technical reviews, engineering calculations, design coordination, and value engineering to optimize cost, manufacturability, and constructability. * Resolve complex engineering challenges throughout the design, fabrication, and installation phases. * Review Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and support procurement with accurate material requirements. **Project Coordination** * Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimation, Planning, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, and Site teams to ensure seamless project execution. * Attend design coordination meetings with architects, consultants, clients, and contractors. * Prepare and review RFIs, technical submittals, material approvals, and design clarification documents. * Ensure all engineering deliverables align with project schedules, manufacturing requirements, and site installation plans. **Production & Fabrication Support** * Work closely with factory teams to ensure fabrication drawings are accurate, complete, and production-ready. * Provide technical guidance during fabrication and installation activities. * Resolve workshop and site technical queries related to design, fabrication, and installation. * Support mock-ups, prototype reviews, and factory acceptance processes where required. **Quality & Compliance** * Ensure all drawings and engineering documentation comply with the company's Quality Management System (QMS). * Maintain document control, revision management, and drawing registers throughout the project lifecycle. * Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, façade standards, and client specifications. * Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, drawing quality, and departmental efficiency. **Team Development** * Mentor, coach, and develop Design Engineers, Façade Engineers, and AutoCAD Draftsmen. * Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and career development opportunities. * Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance engineering culture. **Qualifications** * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline. **Experience** * **10–15 years** of experience i
