Design Team Leader

**Job Overview:** We are seeking an experienced **Design Team Lead – Aluminum Façade** to head our Engineering & Drafting Department. You will manage a team of draftsmen and design engineers, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of shop drawings, fabrication details, and technical submittals for landmark construction projects. **Key Duties & Responsibilities:** **Design & Engineering Leadership** · **Team Management:** Lead, mentor, and manage the in-house design team. Allocate design resources, monitor workloads, and ensure the timely completion of projects. · **Drawing Approvals:** Review and approve all shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details before client/consultant issuance. · **System Design:** Develop detailed designs for stick/unitized curtain walls, structural glazing, doors, windows, skylights, and architectural metal works. **Technical Compliance & Value Engineering** · **Code Compliance:** Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, local municipality regulations, and international engineering standards. · **Value Engineering:** Perform design coordination and value engineering to optimize costs, material usage, and constructability. · **Issue Resolution:** Resolve complex engineering and technical design issues throughout the project lifecycle. **Project & Inter-departmental Coordination** · **Stakeholder Alignment:** Coordinate seamlessly with Project Managers, Planning Engineers, Procurement, QA/QC, and Production teams. · **Client Meetings:** Attend design coordination meetings with clients, main contractors, and architectural consultants. · **Production & Site Support:** Provide technical guidance to factory teams for fabrication and site teams during installation. Resolve workshop and site queries. **Qualifications & Requirements:** · **Education:** Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, or Architecture. · **Experience:** Minimum 3-5 years of experience in aluminum, façade, and glazing industries. · **Leadership:** At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role managing a façade design team. · **Software:** Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD. Familiarity with 3D modeling and specialized facade software is a strong advantage. · **Regional Knowledge:** Proven GCC/UAE experience working with leading façade contractors.
