Design Manager

***Role Overview*** We are seeking a highly structured, detail-driven Design Manager / Chief of Staff to lead internal delivery, project governance, and operational execution. Working directly alongside the Managing Director, you will act as the operational engine of the firm—translating strategic decisions into flawless daily execution, holding technical leads accountable to quality standards, and managing cross-functional workflows across engineering, administration, and regulatory compliance. ***Key Responsibilities*** * **Operational Leadership & QA/QC Oversight:** Implement and enforce rigorous Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) frameworks across engineering submittals, CAD/Revit workflows, and contract documentation prior to executive sign-off. * **Project Delivery & Resource Allocation:** Monitor project lifecycles, milestone tracking, and workload balancing across traffic, roads, infrastructure, and structural engineering teams to eliminate delivery bottlenecks. * **Executive Liaison & Delegation:** Manage cross-departmental execution, ensuring decisions made by the Managing Director are implemented accurately and on schedule without requiring micro-oversight. * **Regulatory & Administrative Coordination:** Oversee formal correspondence, authority compliance reviews (e.g., Dubai Municipality, RTA), and legal/consortium agreements in coordination with external partners and legal counsel. * **Process Automation & Systems Optimization:** Identify operational inefficiencies and drive the adoption of streamlined software tools, custom review checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). ***Key Qualifications*** * **Education:** Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering. * **Experience:** 8–12+ years of progressive leadership in engineering consultancies, project management, or technical operations ***within the UAE***. * **Core Skills:** Exceptional eye for technical and formatting precision, deep familiarity with UAE municipal and authority submittal procedures, strong commercial/contractual literacy, and proficiency in modern project management software. * **Attributes:** High emotional intelligence, decisive problem-solving ability, and a relentless commitment to operational accuracy.
