Job Description: Senior Accountant – Construction **Position:** Senior Accountant **Industry:** Construction **Experience:** Minimum 7 Years of UAE Experience **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Location:** Dubai Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant with a minimum of 7 years of UAE construction industry experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations, supporting project accounting, and delivering accurate financial reporting. Key Responsibilities * Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. * Monitor project costs, budgets, revenue recognition, and profitability for construction projects. * Handle project accounting, subcontractor payments, retention, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting. * Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor company liquidity. * Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and prepare VAT returns. * Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits. * Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules. * Reconcile supplier, customer, and intercompany accounts. * Assist in budget preparation, financial planning, and cost control initiatives. * Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and UAE regulations. * Support payroll accounting and statutory reporting as required. * Liaise with banks, clients, subcontractors, and government authorities on financial matters. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * **Minimum 7 years of UAE experience** as a Senior Accountant in the **construction industry**. * Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control, and construction financial reporting. * Thorough understanding of UAE VAT regulations and compliance. * Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, ERP systems, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting. * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines. Preferred Qualifications * Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA is preferred. * Experience with construction ERP systems. * Knowledge of IFRS and UAE corporate tax regulations is an advantage.
